Gratitude

I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't like the Thanksgiving Holiday. Its a month/day to focus on the things for which we're grateful for. Plus you get to shove your face with food.

With that said, I am blessed. Really blessed.

I was blessed with a wonderful blue eyed baby boy who makes me smile, breath and enjoy every moment of this life.

I'm thankful for Alex college education. I'm even more thankful that he only has a month left.

I'm blessed with a great job that allows me to be with Max 4 out of the 7 days, a job
that allows me to get out of the house and one that is very flexible.

I'm thankful for our families

I'm blessed to have such wonderful friends. They truly are the best. I'm lucky.

I'm thankful for my knowledge of the gospel, to be a part of it and to know of its truths.

I'm blessed to have a home, a roof over my head.

I'm thankful for all that I have. For everything I've been given and for the things that are to come.

5 Months

At 5 months Max has accomplished a lot. Here are some of his adventures:

  • He still continues to roll both ways all over the place
  • Figured out his feet. He grabs them, takes his socks off and have caught him attempting to eat his feet a few times
  • He loves to put everything in his mouth
  • He grabs and reaches for everything. Anything on your face, the remotes, your phone, blankets, toys, anything that he sees he grabs.
  • Loves to stand and jump
  • Sits on his own
  • Splashes in the bathtub
  • Talks to himself, the wall or anyone that is next to him
  • His favorite food right now is Applesauce. We didn't have much luck on Pears but Bananas are going quite well. On that note, he likes to be Mr. Independent and feed himself.
  • He will be crawling by Christmas if not sooner. He has figured out how to get on his hands and knees. But hasn't realized if he moves both of those sets of body parts he will be going wherever he wants, when he wants.
  • Loves to laugh, especially at his Dad.
  • He likes to wrestle with us and always seems to win
  • In the last 5 months we have found out he is allergic to Milk, Johnson&Johnson lotions and bath soap and a slight allergy to Soy but it's not bad enough for him to be off Soy formula.

Oh how I just love him, his chubby cheeks, his big ole smile that lights up the room, his big blue eyes and his long eyelashes. How I enjoy to see him learn, explore and grow each day. I'm so grateful for his fun, happy personality and the wonderful spirit he is to our family. I can't think of anything better.

The adventures with Dad

Alex has Wednesdays off which means I go into work and he takes care of Max. On his way to school he drops him off at my work. Every week is a new adventure of what Max will be wearing.

This is how our conversation went Tuesday night while folding Max clothes..

Me: Do you want me to pick Max clothes for tomorrow?
Alex: Why would you do that? Max picks out his own clothes.
Me: I've seen the outfits you pick for him. At least make sure he has an undershirt on.
Alex: Yea, Yea...I got it covered

The next day he shows up at my work. I first say hi to Max, ask how his day has been. Take the blanket off and this is what he was wearing:

I look at Alex and ask "Why is he wearing shorts?!"
Alex response "He is wearing knee socks so it's okay"

If you know Alex, you will know he thinks wearing socks up to your knees is cool and hip. Which are neither.

Max didn't seem to mind much

Not our week

I love Max more than anything in this world.

But this week hasn't been our best.

One or a combinations of these are occurring:

A) He is getting teeth
B) Going through a growing spurt
C) Just a bad week and everything that was normal has went out the window.
D) None of the above and an alien abducted the real Max.

Halloween Eve

When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ‘tis near Halloween
